Toddler beds are designed for toddlers specifically. One could go from a carry-cot / Moses basket to a toddler bed with removeable side rails. This is a very personal choice of parents, some people prefer children to be in a cot, like all aspects of parenting - we do what is best for us and our children.

For me and mine a toddler bed was best. I loved that my children could walk to my bed when they woke up and just gently peeled my eyelids back, rather than waking up to bloodcurdling screams from a child who wants OUT.

Toddler beds are low to the ground so even a 10 month old can manage to climb on and off (depending on your child, they are all so completely different and develop their own interests at their own rate).

We can also addremoveable side rails for those restless sleepers who are all over the place.
